The Dave Matthews Band was established in Charlottesville, Virginia in 1991, and their big label debut album, Under the Table and Dreaming, reached number one in 1994. The pattern continued until their most recent ninth studio album, "Come Tomorrow," was released in 2018. As a consequence, the DMB became the first band in music history to have seven consecutive studio albums chart at the top of the charts. Their debut album received their first Grammy nomination in 1994, and they won their first Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance with the song "So Much to Say" in 1996.
This tour will promote the release of a new Dave Matthews Band album, Walk Around the Moon, on May 19. It will be the group's tenth studio album and the follow-up to Come Tomorrow, released in 2018. The album's first single, "Madman's Eyes," was released on January 24th. Walk Around the Moon was executive produced by longtime DMB associate John Alaga and is "as much a reflection on the current times as it is an urge to find common ground," according to a news release.
Lead singer and guitarist Dave Matthews is accompanied by bassist Stefan Lessard, drummer and backing vocalist Carter Beauford, lead guitarist Tim Reynolds, trumpeter Rashawn Ross, saxophonist Jeff Coffin, and pianist Buddy Strong.
